Art Basel in Basel 2025, running June 19–22, will transform Basel, Switzerland, into a global art hub featuring artworks from 291 galleries across 42 countries. Under the leadership of director Maike Cruse, the show will offer visitors everything from museum-quality works by legendary artists such as Pablo Picasso and Louise Bourgeois to immersive installations by the rising stars reshaping the art world. The fair’s entrance plaza, Messeplatz, will be turned into an eye-catching chromatic extravaganza as celebrated German artist Katharina Grosse brings her signature spray-gun technique to the space.

New this year is Premiere, a fresh exhibition sector showcasing bold artwork created in the past 5 years. Ten cutting-edge galleries will present highly innovative works. Jacky Strenz (Frankfurt) has chosen to honor German-Iraqi sculptor Lin May Saeed, who passed away in 2023, showing her poignant sculptures and wall reliefs that address animal liberation, interspecies relationships, and the beauty of the natural world. The premiere will also include trailblazing galleries such as LC Queisser (Tbilisi) and Selma Feriani Gallery (Tunis and London). Discover all Premiere exhibitors here.

Eighteen galleries will participate in the fair for the first time. Arcadia Missa (London) and François Ghebaly (Los Angeles and New York) – both known for their visionary programs and ability to foster young artists’ careers – will be joining the show’s prestigious main sector, which will welcome a total of 239 participants.
